This is a recent photo series I have playfully named The Weight of Helium. With the help of my very good friend Amanda I was able to make one of my ideas a reality. She was a trooper! I could have not accomplished this series without her. We took about 100 photos that day. These are some of the best.
This series tells a story of personal strife and in the end victory. I
always want the viewer to interpret my work on their own and have the
freedom to feel whatever they would like. However, to me, the balloons
are a metaphor for everything in her life causing her pain and weighing
her down. The cigarettes are meant to convey mood and the smoke
represents the release of her various emotions.
I have entered these photos, along with others I have taken, in a international photography competition called One Life. To view (and hopefully vote for) my portfolio go here: http://alisonpalizzolo.see.me/onelife2012. Thank you, in advance, to everyone who takes the time to look at the collection I entered.
Thank you for stopping by!
